Letter grade required in all major courses unless otherwise noted.

C grade or better required in all major courses, including required and business/major elective courses. No P/NC accepted.

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management covers various tasks and functions within an organization, including: recruiting and hiring, employee compensation and benefits, corporate policy creation, employee assistance, and training. Within the field of human resource management (HR), there is an endless list of possible jobs. A successful graduate will have the skills to create, implement, and design programs that help maximize employee performance. As an HR professional, it is also commonly expected to aid in aligning the standards for the employees with the organization’s goals.

What kinds of students major in Human Resources Management?
Students with excellent spoken and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are a requirement. Human resources require a high level of confidentiality and open-mindedness to help grow and develop an organization. Students who are interested in serving people, helping employees develop their leadership skills, and constantly learning about human behavior are encouraged to consider this major.

What kind of jobs can you get with a Human Resources Management degree?
Human resource specialist or generalist, recruiter, training and development coordinator, compensation analyst, employee benefits coordinator, staffing consultant, organizational change consultant, human resource development associate.

This major may be completed residentially or fully online. Non-residential students may request to enter WSU’s eCampus degree completion cohort to complete this major. Registration for some upper-division course sections listed below are restricted to students in the eCampus cohort. The online degree completion program is delivered through the WSU-Rochester campus.

BA/HRMT Double Major


Students wanting to double major in Business Administration and Human Resource Management must complete at least four unique elective courses in each major. Major code BAHR should be selected on Declaration of Major form.
