HLA 402 - Lifestyle Medicine

There is a complex relationship between lifestyle and health outcomes. This course will examine the science-based relationship between lifestyle choices or patterns and chronic disease. Students will use evidence-based science to determine how holistic and lifestyle remedies can be used to treat and prevent disease. Topics to be covered include lifestyle medicine practices: activity, nutrition, sleep, weight management, and other good practices, which all profoundly impact both health and quality of life. Prerequisite: sophomore, junior, or senior standing. Grade only. Offered annually (usually spring semester).
