Letter grade required in all major courses unless otherwise noted.

C grade or better required in all major courses, including required and business/major elective courses.

Admission to the College of Business  required.

Overview

The Bachelor of Science Business Administration major is a broad degree encompassing courses in management, human resources, information technology, operations, international business, and law, as well as introductions to accounting, economics, marketing, and finance. On the job, business administrators establish and carry out departmental or organizational goals, policies, and procedures, direct and oversee an organization’s financial budgetary activities, and help manage general activities related to making products and providing services. Majors can also be innovative by applying new technologies, negotiating, or approving contracts, and identifying places to cut costs and improve performance, policies, and programs.

Students who thrive as business administration majors are leaders, decision-makers, and strategic thinkers. They are good communicators, motivators, and team players. They recognize opportunities, achieve goals, and provide organizational leadership.

What kind of jobs can you get with a Business Administration degree?
Sales manager, business consultant, business analyst, market research analyst, human resource specialist or generalist, loan officer, event planner, training and development specialist, real estate manager or sales, buyer or purchasing agent, insurance underwriter, supply chain analyst, travel coordinator, operations coordinator, retail manager.

This major may be completed residentially or fully online. Non-residential students may request to enter WSU’s eCampus degree completion cohort to complete this major. The online degree completion program is delivered through the WSU-Rochester campus in partnership with RCTC. Students take all general education requirements, lower-division, and prerequisite courses through the RCTC campus. A combination of the RCTC Liberal Arts AA and the Business Transfer Pathway A. degrees will best prepare students for entry. Students outside the Winona area may request to enter WSU’s eCampus degree completion cohort for Business Administration. Registration for some upper-division course sections listed below is restricted to students in the eCampus cohort.

Please see advisor to make sure requirements have been meet including WSU equivalent courses for admittance to the WSU College of Business (COB). Students must be admitted to the COB prior to enrollment in 300/400-level courses. COB admission requires 30 or more credits earned at time of application, 2.5 cumulative GPA, completion of specific courses with a minimum C grade.
