CMST 291 - Topics in Multicultural Communication


(3 credits) Meets GOAL 7.

Introduce students to individual and group differences (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, etc.) and the society's historical and contemporary responses to the differences; familiarize students with the communication skills necessary to manage diversity among cultural groups in the United States. Topics vary, including communication ethics and diversity and Asian American communication. This course may be repeated with different topics. Grade or P/NC. Offered alternate years or when demand warrants. Repeatable up to six credits as topics change.
