Safe Campus Reopening
KBA-01514-Y2Q5Y2
Question
There is a significant rise in COVID-19 cases in the region and nationally. Can we open campus safely under these conditions?
Answer
Herein lies our challenge. The entire nation is struggling with a lot of the same concerns and questions and WSU is no exception. Across campus there are numerous people and departments working around the clock to do all that we can to monitor the risks and provide as much health guidance and safety measures as possible. However, the true heroes will be each individual member of our campus community. Are you doing your part? Are you modeling for others? In addition, we have a couple of things that we are working on to help establish our trigger points that will tell us when we need to pull back, pause and honker down on campus and when we might need to pull back, go home and go online.  We are also working on guidance for various sectors of one’s life and suggestions as to how to make those functions lower risk. We may be forging a path that has a lot of unknowns but rest assured that the health and safety of our community is our top priority.
