Event Description
The WSU Department of Mathematics and Statistics will host guest lecturer and professor David Bressoud as he discusses "The Death of Proof?" He will talk about the fact that the search for proof is less about establishing truth than it is about exploring new knowledge.

Bressoud is a DeWitt Wallace Professor of Mathematics at Macalester College. He has published more than 50 research articles in number theory, combinatorics, and special functions. He is a former president of the Mathematics Association of America.
