Telluride Travel Study

Event Description:
Winona State’s Film Studies program, in cooperation with the Frozen River Film Festival, is planning a travel study to the Mountainfilm Film Festival in Telluride, CO, in May 2018.

An informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 5 pm in Minné Hall room 363.

J Paul Johnson, English/Film Studies is the faculty leader.  Crystal Hegge, former Executive Director of the Frozen River Film Festival, is trip leader.  Students will spend seven days in beautiful Telluride, Colorado during the 2018 Mountainfilm Film Festival, where they will volunteer at the festival; attend screenings, events, and lectures; and learn first-hand from filmmakers about their work.  The trip to Telluride is scheduled for May 23-30, 2018.  

The travel study is open to all WSU students, with priority registration provided to FILM majors and minors.  Students may register for Film 240, Film Genres: Indies Shorts Docs Etc., a general-education (GEP Goal 6) humanities elective with no prerequisites; advanced students may register for Film 450, Topics/Problems: The Film Festival.
