Event Description:
Winona State University College of Education will host College of Kids from Monday, July 17 through Thursday, July 20.
Each summer, College for Kids (CFK) "professors" teach courses for children grades 3-8 in math, science, technology, language arts (including foreign languages), social studies, STEM, art, music, health, nutrition, physical education and even lifetime hobbies.
Based on community feedback, this year's CFK will be offered full days to better accommodate working parents' schedules. There will be three class sessions (90 minutes) each day. Children can choose to attend two or three classes daily.
Students will graduate from College for Kids 2017 from 3 to 4 p.m on July 20. During the commencement ceremony, graduates will receive their certificate. Parents, grandparents, family members and friends are all invited to participate, take pictures and view projects completed by the students. We will also recognize our teachers and volunteers.
CFK students may enroll in full days (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) for $200 or half days (8 a.m. - 12 p.m.) for $150. Limited scholarships are available to those who have an economic hardship as set by state guidelines.
